As Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation prepares to showcase its latest progress on the aviation industry’s greatest stage at the 2019 Paris Air Show, the company is also turning its attention towards the future with the opening of a new U.S. headquarters, located in Renton, Washington.
In an exciting step in Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation’s development, the new headquarters employs members of the company’s increasingly global team, and will play a key role in future product development. Employees onsite will work primarily in engineering, sales, marketing and customer support. As a Japanese company serving an international market, this new office in the global aerospace hub of Washington marks the latest investment in the global expansion of Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation.
Given its proximity to several key program partners, as well as the region’s status as a global aerospace hub, Washington proved a natural choice for the new headquarters. North America also presents the greatest opportunity in the regional segment of the market, and a significant presence there will be critical for the company’s long-term success.
Alex Bellamy, Chief Development Officer of Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation, delivered remarks at the headquarter's opening event in which he highlighted the alignment between market trends and the company’s investment in North America. “Demand in the North American regional segment is expected to grow beyond the more than 1,800 aircraft currently in service,” said Bellamy. “It is strategically important for us to be close to our customers and support that market demand.”
As the Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation team conducts certification flights three hours east of the new headquarters at Moses Lake Flight Test Center, the close proximity will further the continued partnership with the JCAB and the FAA as the program progresses toward first delivery to launch customer ANA in 2020.
